The British Association of Medical Aesthetic Nurses (BAMAN), formerly known as the BACN, is the leading professional association for nurses providing medical aesthetic treatments in the UK.
Established in 2009, BAMAN has consistently championed excellence in patient care, professional development, ethical practice, and is a powerful voice advocating for nurses working in medical aesthetics.
BAMAN is an association for nurses, created by nurses, and is focused on meeting the needs of nurses working in medical aesthetics. Patient safety is at the heart of everything we do, and our members operate under a strict Code of Professional Conduct to uphold the highest standards of care.
With over 1,300 members, BAMAN fosters a strong sense of community among medical aesthetic nurses and offers access to CPD-accredited events, networking opportunities, and the latest guidelines and advice. Our association actively lobbies policymakers and influences to ensure nurses are recognised as key professionals in this specialism.
No nurse should feel isolated in this field, and BAMAN is here to ensure that every nurse has the support, representation, and resources they need to thrive.
The purpose and ethos of the BACN remain true since its establishment in 2009 – it is an organisation developed by nurses, governed by nurses and providing services required by nurses.
At its heart, is an ‘ethical association’ there for its members, but equally also has a major contribution to make in terms of improving and enhancing the reputation of the industry and the patient experience.
With a core value of ‘patient safety,’ the BACN provides a range of services and member benefits that meet member requirements and which enable them to deliver the highest quality of safe service to the public.
Members work to the BACN ‘Code of Conduct’ and embrace the ethos of delivering safe services to the public, and the Association that is working to enhance the reputation of the sector, its stakeholders and that demonstrates best practice and innovation.
